Cambodian rice has been voted the world’s best
For the three years in a row, Cambodian rice, or more precisely “Phka Mlis”, has been recognised by the experts of the World Rice conference as the best rice of the world.
The annual World Rice Conference brings together more than 500 rice exporters and importers from all over the globe.
This year, the conference took place in Phnom Penh. Cambodian rice has already won the “World’s Best Rice” award in Bali (2012), and in Hongkong (2013). This year, the victory is celebrated in the home country. In 2013, Cambodia was ranked the 12th largest rice producer with yearly output of 9,34 million tons of rice.
The rice-growing “granary” of Cambodia is the province Battambang.

Congratulations! Humm but the Sri Lanka one is very good too! I m surprised that cambodian food are no so tasty or famous than in Vietnam ot Thailande. Why??? Why every time i go in a street restaurant the rice is not good?
Proud to be cambodian!
The combodgien rice is one of the most famous. White gold nicknamed by many experts, including chefs. If we do not find this quality in street is that simply the best quality is reserved for export.
Beautiful photos. Congratulations to the winners.
